"Reiki is love, love is wholeness,
balance is well-being.
Well-being is freedom
from disease."
Dr. Mikao Usui.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy healing art discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900's in Japan.

It is a complementary therapy whereby energy is drawn through the practitioner into the recipient, encouraging the flow of healthy energy throughout the body. Treatments aim to reduce stress and increase the ability to relax, which in turn, promotes the bodies own natural ability to heal the mind, the body and the spirit.

A Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit for the energy, helping it go to where the recipient needs it most. Reiki is a holistic healing procedure, and can be used for anyone regardless of age or medical condition, but it is important to understand that Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical care. It can however, be used as a safe complementary therapy regardless of any medical conditions.
"Reiki is the harmony that seeks to restore
what's been disrupted."
Garry Malone.
What can Reiki do?
Reiki promotes relaxation and reduces stress. Stress and anxiety both contribute to and create many issues, both mentally and physically, so the reduction of just these two negative energies helps the body's immune system fight back and increase its own natural ability to heal.

Our bodies can hold on to energy when we experience trauma, if these emotions are not processed it can lead to emotional and physical blockages. A Reiki treatment can help move stagnant energy and replace it with pure energy helping to alleviate uncomfortable physical and emotional pain. Reiki energy intuitively goes to where the recipient needs it most, it is not uncommon for a client to request treatment for physical pain, but instead find themselves releasing built up emotions.

Reiki can produce deep relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, boost energy levels, give a feeling of inner calm and serenity
which in turn can speed up the bodies natural ability to heal.

It can also promote confidence, positivity and an increase in coping mechanisms, it can help with the ability to be able to deal with stressful people and situations and help develop a sense of purpose and clear thinking.

What to expect during a treatment.
In a typical session, the recipient will lie down fully clothed on a massage table. Your comfort is crucial, so blankets and cushions will be available. Treatment is non-invasive, and Reiki will be offered through either light touch, no touch at all or a mixture of both according to what you are most comfortable with. My hands will be placed on, and/or hover over a series of locations on the head and body. I play relaxing background music with healing sound frequencies, and the aroma of healing scents will fill the air. Please allow up to an hour and fifteen minutes for treatments.

How will I feel during or after a treatment?
The experience of Reiki is subjective, whether the session is in person or distance, different things can happen to different people at every treatment, equally, it is quite common not to feel anything at all other than relaxed and calm. A lot of my clients fall asleep during treatment which is absolutely fine! Some of the most common experiences people feel are waves of energy throughout their body, or in certain areas of their body, either a coolness or heat emitting from my hands, tingling sensations and seeing colours or visions.

It is important to know that Reiki works on all levels, so even if you don't feel any physical sensations, the energy could be working on an emotional level. The cleansing process after a treatment can affect people in different ways and I will discuss those with you at your first treatment.

Whether you are considering Reiki as a potential treatment for mental or physical health, Reiki Healing is intended for the entire mind, body, and spirit, practitioners don’t limit what Reiki treatment could be beneficial for.
